Over the years, Jeddah has welcomed the outside influencers such as traders, international artists and Makkahbound pilgrims with open arms remaining true to its unofficial motto – “Jeddah Ghair,” which simply means “Jeddah is different.” These visitors have left a lasting mark on the city turning it into Saudi Arabia’s buzzing cosmopolitan hub, home to gleaming hotels and big-ticket events like the Red Sea International Film Festival.
However, Jeddah has remained rooted to its traditions. The city’s heart is still intact in Al Balad, the magical historical quarter that has undergone a renaissance in recent years. And the Red Sea is still central to it all — for trade, for diving among pristine reefs, and for fishing for Jeddah’s legendary seafood. The city where Eve was laid to rest (according to local lore) is a charming mix of old and new, and one that remains gloriously different. Jeddah Ghair indeed!

While visiting Al-Balad, visitors will be taken to see Beit Nassif, one of the prominent renovated structures in the old city, which dates back to the mid 1800’s. The five-story building provides a rare opportunity for the visitors to experience the blend of traditional architecture with modernity. We will also see the Baghdadi house. We will also visit the Old gold market in Gabel street and the Ukash Mosque. We will end our tour driving towards the Jeddah Corniche which is the 30 km coastal resort area of the city of Jeddah.
