DAY 1 ARRIVE IN JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA

Johannesburg is located in the northeastern region of South Africa and is currently undergoing a renaissance, with new theaters, restaurants, cafes, and museums opening throughout the city. You will have the rest of the day to relax or begin exploring the city.

DAYS 2-3 VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE | THUNDERING CASCADES
Fly to Victoria Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel situated on the banks of the Zambezi River. The locals refer to Victoria Falls as Mosi-oa-Tunya, which means “The Smoke That Thunders.” This spectacular waterfall drops a 1.2-mile-wide curtain of water, creating mist and rainbows. In the late afternoon, enjoy a leisurely sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. The following day, take a guided walking tour of the breathtaking falls and surrounding forest, where you may spot a variety of birdlife, bushbucks, monkeys, baboons, and mongoose. Then, cycle along the Zambezi River and witness the ancient 3,500-year-old baobab tree and take in the spectacular views of the Batoka Gorge and Victoria Falls Bridge.

DAYS 4-6 HWANGE NATIONAL PARK | THRILLING SAFARIS ON FOOT
Fly to Hwange National Park, the largest park in Zimbabwe, located an hour south of Victoria Falls in the northwest corner of the country. The park is home to over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, and one of the largest populations of elephants in the world. All of Zimbabwe’s specially protected animals, including various predators, call the vast plains, grasslands, and forests of the park home. Spend the rest of the day and the next two days game viewing in this magnificent region. You may choose to explore by open safari vehicle or set out on a walking safari through the savanna grassland habitat.

DAYS 7-8 LAKE KARIBA | FIERY SUNSETS
Fly to Bumi Hills, located on hilly ground overlooking Lake Kariba. Here, you can embark on game drives, safari cruises, and fishing expeditions or take walks in nearby Matusadona National Park. The park is marked by “drowned forests” populated by large buffalo herds, and it is also home to a small but significant number of endangered black rhinos. You may spot elephant herds along the lakeshore, as well as roaming lions, hippos, crocodiles, and over 200 species of birds. The sunsets here are often fiery red, so be sure to have your camera ready as the sun dips below the petrified trees and shimmering waters.

DAYS 9-11 MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK | RIVER-DWELLING WILDLIFE
This morning, you will fly to Mana Pools National Park where you will be met and transferred to your intimate camp. The park is located in the far northern corner of Zimbabwe on the banks of the Zambezi River. It is home to a diverse range of wildlife including large populations of elephants, hippos, and Nile crocodiles. At sunrise, you can observe the gathering of Nile crocodiles at Long Pool, while in the south of the park, lions wait for prey near the waterhole at Chitake Spring. During your stay, you can choose from a variety of game activities including game drives in 4×4 vehicles, walking safaris, canoe trips, or fishing. Apart from the park’s large buffalo populations, you may also spot kudus, zebras, impalas, elephants, and waterbucks.
