Tour Itinerary:
- Our tour will begin with a pick-up from your hotel in Kyoto or Osaka. We will start by visiting the famous Fushimi Inari Taisha, a stunning Shinto shrine that is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. You can walk through the gates and explore the beautiful natural scenery around the shrine.
- Next, we’ll head to Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion. This stunning Zen Buddhist temple is covered in gold leaf and surrounded by a tranquil pond and garden. You can take in the beauty of the temple and its surroundings and learn about the rich history and culture of the region.
- We’ll then visit Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous example of Japanese castle architecture. You can explore the castle’s beautiful gardens, moat, and walls, as well as the stunning interiors filled with art and artifacts.
- For lunch, we’ll take you to a local restaurant where you can sample delicious Japanese cuisine, such as sushi, tempura, or ramen. Your guide will recommend some of the best places to eat based on your preferences and dietary restrictions.
- After lunch, we’ll visit the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous temples in Kyoto. The temple is perched on a hillside and offers stunning views of the city below. You can explore the temple’s many halls, shrines, and pagodas, as well as its beautiful gardens and grounds.
- Finally, we’ll end the day with a visit to the Gion district, one of the most famous geisha districts in Japan. You can stroll through the charming streets and alleys and perhaps catch a glimpse of a geisha or maiko (apprentice geisha) on their way to an appointment.
