The Normandy D-Day Beaches and American Cemetery are important historical sites that commemorate the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II. On this day trip from Paris, you’ll visit the beaches where the invasion took place and pay your respects at the American Cemetery, all while learning about the events that shaped modern history.
Itinerary:
6:30 am: Meet your guide and group at a designated location in Paris, and board the coach for the journey to Normandy.
10:00 am: Arrive at the first stop, the American Cemetery. This is the final resting place of over 9,000 American soldiers who lost their lives during the D-Day landings and the subsequent battles in Normandy. Take a guided tour of the cemetery, and learn about the stories of some of the soldiers buried here.
12:00 pm: Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant or café, where you can enjoy some traditional Normandy cuisine, such as seafood and apple cider.
1:30 pm: Visit the D-Day beaches, including Omaha Beach and Utah Beach. These were the sites of some of the most intense fighting during the invasion, and you can see the remains of the bunkers and fortifications that the Germans built to defend the coast.
4:30 pm: Return to Paris, and arrive back at the designated drop-off location by approximately 8:00 pm.
