Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo Welcome to Cairo, the bustling capital of Egypt! Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with the immigration process and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to relax and prepare for the exciting tour ahead.

Day 2: Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx, Saqqara, and Memphis After breakfast, meet your guide and driver at the hotel and head to the Giza Plateau to visit the iconic Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx. Marvel at the sheer size and grandeur of these ancient structures, and learn about the history and mythology surrounding them.

Next, visit Saqqara, the necropolis of Memphis, and see the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest stone pyramid in Egypt. Continue to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, and see the statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Sphinx.

Return to Cairo for lunch and then visit a papyrus institute to see how papyrus was made in ancient times. You will have the opportunity to buy some souvenirs.

Day 3: Egyptian Museum, Citadel of Salah El Din, and Old Cairo Start your day with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, where you will discover the treasures of ancient Egypt, including the treasures of King Tutankhamun. Next, head to the Citadel of Salah El Din, a medieval fortress that once protected Cairo from invading armies. From here, enjoy a panoramic view of the city and visit the beautiful Mohamed Ali Mosque.

Continue to Old Cairo, where you will explore the historic landmarks, including the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, and the Church of St. Barbara. Learn about the religious diversity and cultural heritage of Egypt as you wander through the narrow streets of this ancient district.

Next, head to the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, an underground burial site dating back to the 2nd century AD. Admire the intricate carvings and decorations, and learn about the mix of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian influences.

Day 5: Alexandria Catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar, and Montazah Palace After breakfast, continue your tour of Alexandria by visiting the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, an underground burial site dating back to the 2nd century AD. Admire the intricate carvings and decorations, and learn about the mix of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian influences.

Next, visit Pompey’s Pillar, a 26-meter-high column built in honor of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Finally, explore the beautiful Montazah Palace, a royal residence surrounded by lush gardens and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

After lunch, return to Cairo and check in to your Nile River cruise ship. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner on board as you sail towards Luxor.

Day 6: Nile River Cruise Wake up to the stunning views of the Nile River and enjoy breakfast on board. Today, you will visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor on the East Bank of the Nile. Discover the impressive columns, statues, and obelisks of these ancient sites, and learn about the pharaohs who built them.

In the afternoon, sail towards Esna and cross the Esna Lock. Continue sailing towards Edfu and enjoy dinner on board.

Day 7: Nile River Cruise and Departure from Cairo After breakfast, visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, the best-preserved temple of the ancient world. Admire the intricate carvings and decorations, and learn about the mythology and history behind this magnificent site.

Return to the cruise ship and sail towards Kom Ombo, where you will visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris, dedicated to the crocodile-headed god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Haroeris.

Enjoy lunch on board as you sail towards Aswan, the southernmost city in Egypt. Upon arrival, visit the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and located on an island in the Nile.
